The last of the new AETs for the ‘09-’10 school year has finally arrived! Please give a warm welcome to Tammy King. She just flew in last Friday and will begin teaching at Sannomaru Elementary School very soon. Let’s wish her the best as she adjusts to a new culture, a new job and her new life in Japan.
Last Friday evening the new group of AETs arrived safely in Mito to begin their new lives in Japan! This year we are lucky to have seven new faces (with one arriving sometime in May). The six that have already arrived are: Allen & Laura Thompson, Brett & Heather Worsham, Cole Turney and Joey Hartman. We are excited that these six have arrived in good spirits and health and we want to wish them a quick and easy transition into Japanese life.
A few weeks ago (July 11th) we partied amigo style at our AET Mexican Fiesta! Lot’s of fun was had hanging out with each other, a number of delicious Mexican dishes were enjoyed and we had a great time playing the Wii, among other games. Pics should be up very soon so check ‘em out!
On April 11th we were blessed with the arrival of 10 new AET’s! Kristin Creekmore, Michelle Lair, Derrick and Miranda Logwood, Issac Magos, Jon and Nicah Nossaman, John Smith, and Paul and Devon Weger have joined us in the adventure that is teaching English in Mito. We wish them the best of luck with their new lives in Japan. On April 19th we will have an AET welcome party at a local restaurant so be looking for pics from that get together very soon!
Last Saturday we had our farewell party for the AET’s who are leaving us this March. We went to Shidax Karaoke here in Mito and had a great time. Thanks to everyone involved with putting the event together. And thanks to those going home for all your hard work this past year. Check out the Photos page to see pictures from the party.
